G.James Windows and DoorsÌýfabricates, sells and installs a wide range ofÌýaluminium windows and doors to the residential and commercial construction markets.

The Opportunity:

We have an opportunity for anÌýApprentice GlazierÌýwhere over time you will become a core member of ourÌýTownsville Windows and DoorsÌýteam.

This apprenticeship will see the ideal candidate gain the learning requirements relevant to obtainÌýyour trade certificate with guidance both from our experienced and skilled supervisors and via completion of TAFE components. Throughout the span of the apprenticeship, you will work in our windows and doors fabrication facility and on residential and commercial construction sites. You will gain exposure to:

  • Glass SkillsÌý- handling and moving glass safely, and cutting glass by hand and using machines
  • Residential FabricationsÌý-Ìý fabricating and assembling large range of windows, doors and screens products, including cutting and processing aluminium for frames
  • Residential GlazingÌý-Ìýglazing, re-glazing, installing residential windows, doors, screens,Ìýshower screens, mirrors, and glass splashbacks
  • Commercial GlazingÌý- installing commercial and structural glazing products and commercial structural re-glazing

ÃÀÓÕÖ±²¥ You:

Candidates whoÌýmeet the following criteria are encouraged to apply:

  • Interest in the manufacturing / construction industry
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Deep interest in hands on work in a unique trade
  • Possess a strong commitment to workplace safety
  • Ability to work with a wide range of peopleÌý
  • Current drivers’ licence (own vehicle)
  • Willing to travel to attend TAFE block training in Brisbane
